Anna Herforth’s work spans three interconnected phases. In the early years, she helped define the concept of nutrition-sensitive agriculture, co-founding the Ag2Nut Community of Practice to unite global experts around shared principles for linking food systems and nutrition. Building on that foundation, she led the creation of global indicators such as the Cost and Affordability of a Healthy Diet and the Diet Quality Questionnaire, translating ideas into practical, measurable tools. Today, her focus is on scaling these innovations worldwide—through collaborations with FAO, the World Bank, and others—to track and improve the world’s access to healthy, sustainable diets.
